Hey everybody,

It has been a while since I posted last, mainly because of my pure laziness in trying to keep this site up. It gets to the point where things are so chaotic and routine that it is hard for me to actually collect my thoughts and post them for my loved ones and visitors to see. I am going to try and at least to do one post a week, maybe more depending on if I get inspired to write anything.

Let me start out by saying that I was truly moved by the thoughtful wedding gift Christy and I received from her friend Shannon. To receive a flag that was flown over our nation’s capitol in honor of our wedding day is something that truly touched my heart, and Christy and I will truly cherish it for the rest of our lives.

I want to say thank you to Shannon for such a thoughtful gift and to our Tennessee Congressman John Duncan for having it flown (even though he is a Republican).

I met Dean Kane (Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman, Ripley’s Believe It or Not), and Amanda Swiston (American Wedding -- the French maid Fraulein Brandi in the infamous bachelor party scene) today when they visited FOB Bernstein. I had my picture taken with them and got their autographs. It made the second celebrity visit to our FOB after The Charlie Daniels Band visited last month while I was home on leave.

Iraq is getting hot hot hot. With temperatures reaching an average of 95 degrees (and only getting hotter), it makes riding around in a steel plated humvee all day without air conditioning truly unbearable.

God Bless,

Ryan
