Down with the sickness

Hey people,

I had another chance to make it over to the Internet, the computers right across from me are finally fixed! As Christy said I've been really sick as of late with a bad stomach virus. Today makes the fourth day that I've had it and I finally think it's starting to pass. The doctors at the troop medical center have had me on quarters/bedrest for the past few days because of it. I was also on a liquid diet, all I could have was water, gatorade, and 7 up, lemme tell ya, it was horrible! Anyways, I won't go into much detail, but I've made many trips to the latrine and I've felt like I was dying several times.

Other than that I'm doing all right. We are still working our butts off to help the Iraqi people with their elections in about two weeks. I'm getting lots and lots of mail, I got like five packages at once the other day and about 10 letters in about the last week, it makes me feel really loved, lol.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. It helps make every day a little bit easier.

It was great to get to talk to you this morning. I was beginning to wonder what had happened. I think your mother said she stayed awake for two hours hoping you might call. I hope you understand why I havent been emailing you via AOL. I think you told me last time that you hardly ever checked it. I see now that you cleared your messages there. Also, our letters have been almost non-existent since we talk with you on the phone and chat on Msn on occasion. When it gets to where we're unable to do that, you'll be getting some of my scribblings. Take care of yourself and nourish that scrawny body every chance you get. Love you.

Hey Ryan and Christy,
I just now had a chance to check in on you two and see that Ryan has been sick. I am praying that he is on the mend and at least, able to eat now.

Also I have a question. Not one that has been addressed I can assure you. :-) Several of the ladies of the 278th FRG's have been working on donations and packages for all our troops. The question has arisen (several discussions in fact) as to the color of underware that can't/shouldn't be sent. Some say only brown - where do you find brown underware? And others say any color except white. Help please!!

That is really really funny! Whoever told you that we could only have a certain color of underwear is out of their mind. We can wear whatever we want, I know some guys that don't wear any at all, as gross as that sounds. But seriously, there is no color standard or anything like that. My only suggestion would be to send cotton briefs like Hanes or Fruit of the Loom for when it starts heating up around here. Most guys like the boxer/briefs and some of the older guys prefer the traditional high cuts.

Never thought I'd be talking about undies on here.

I highly recommend the UnderArmour boxer-briefs. Very comfortable, especially in the summer. I'd avoid cotton stuff myself, but to each his own. The UA stuff is a bit pricy, but try a pair and see if you don't convert... Stay safe, Ryan.

SO_O-0 good to hear you're feeling much better and survived the viral onslaught! My heart goes out to you, because there's nothing worse than being away from home and getting sick. Hope your buddies helped you out and your doctors dispense some TLC along with meds and medical advice.
I'm not your Mom, but make sure you eat every healthy thing you can get your hands on... to keep up your resistance (that would mean none of the junk food I've been sending you, right?!) hehehe I'll try to do better in the future!
