Hi everyone,

I posted two new links that I like and that came to my attention through Michelle's site. (Thanks again! I'm started to feel like a plagiarizer. But this stuff is too good not to pass on.)

The sites are Hooah4Health, which focuses on health/wellness of soldiers and families and also has a section on the stages of deployment, which I REALLY liked and could identify with. I recommend browsing this site.

The second is Operation G.I. Jingle, which offers free holiday greetings to kids. Even from Santa!

On another note, my links on the side under “Care for a solider” are still up. It's too late to get Christmas gifts overseas by Dec. 25, but I think anything sent would be appreciated.

Also, if you know a family who is dealing with the deployment of a loved one this holiday, maybe you could take a minute to do something for them. Send a card, or stop by with a Christmas goodie, or buy a small gift for a child. Holidays are hard this year for many people, and a gesture of kindess really makes a difference. It's easy to sink into sadness when your loved one leaves, so much so that you don't enjoy anything, least of all the holidays. But having people around that care and show it through small acts of kindness such as cards or phone calls really has made a difference for me. Even posts on this blog brighten my day, and Ryan's. This Christmas, I'm grateful for good friends! Even those I've never met.

Lastly, a poem posted on James and Jennifer Sanders' site  on being a military wife really touched me today. Check it out by clicking on their names.
