Wow... .. let me say that again... WOW!!!!!! I can't believe how this thing has spread like a crowd pouring out of Neyland Stadium (I had to find a good Vol metaphor for a wild fire.) But I am truly amazed at how this thing got so many hits on its first day. I appreciate everyone who sent birthday wishes my way. I spent it in the middle of the desert at a firing range. Rest assured, if we ever get attacked by a mob of tiny paper targets, we'll come out on top! Then I came back to the base and ate Burger King, my gift from the boys since we can't have any alcohol, just non-alcoholic stuff. I also called Christy and the family at home before heading over here to check out things online. I'm still in awe at this thing. WOW.  I'll be sending out my mailing address soon through the old e-mail, so keep your eyes peeled if you are on my mailing list.

Take care,

Ryan

UPDATE from Christy: Ryan and I were talking on Instant Message, and he realized he forgot to post something very important to us! (The goober.) We've decided to get married during his mid-tour leave, God willing he gets it. It will be small, in a courthouse or someone's home, with a big party to come later. There's a big range of time as to when he could get leave, so the "when" is up in the air. We couldn't be happier, though, about the decision. Since even before he left, I knew I wanted to marry him. But his deployment also shows me that I don't want to wait any longer to be his wife -- I don't care about planning out flowers and food and the dress. I just want to stand in front of him, say my vows and become his wife. And sooner than we thought, we'll be able to do that. God's given us hardships, but He's also given us blessings, and this is one of them.
