Whew! Been busy
Well people, Some o' ya have been askin about me, and I haven't had time to update, so I figure now's as good a time as any.
I only got about another 15 minutes till the poop meeting, so I gotta make it short.
We moved from replacement company to a unit within the 34th Infantry Division. That's about all I think I can say, because of OPSEC.
They have this mock FOB (Forward Operating Base), a tent city out in the woods, and that's where we lived until a few days ago. No computers, no heat, and a cot in a tent. I LOVE THE ARMY!!!!
Now we're in the barracks next to the PX, and things are normalizing some. Here's some things that you won't find anywhere else but in the Army.
- A HUGE amount of homosexual over-, under-, and inbetween-tones. Every other comment is followed by some kind of homo comment. If we weren't in the army, people would think we were weird. An example...
- Damn, I'm Cold!!!!!
Response: "Wanna cuddle?"
- Also, there's nothing more retarded than a bored infantryman. Today, for example, bugs of all kinds were being consumed while waiting for the range to go hot, with me in the middle collecting the wagers. Highlight: a soldier swallowing a lizard for the princely sum of 83 dollars.
