Now i know where the career manager was getting this E5 stuff from.
So I gotta pass the APFT to promote to E5. No sweat, right?
Good think i've been working out. I mean, I'm pretty sure I'll pass (i
gave myself a practice on the pushups and situps a few minutes ago, and
I got those)
Here's my beef, and it's no offense to anyone in particular, just a procedural beef.
I've heard about numerous IRR officers declining to TAKE the PT
test, and being promoted anyways, yet our enlisted soldiers (who
probably don't make ANYTHING as an E4 compared to whatever they were
doing on the outside) have to jump through added hoops to get the
money.
My opinion is: if they have a good service record, have the
TIG and TIS, and have the points, give it to em. The Army is asking us
to put our entire lives on hold (which I'll happily do, BTW)
the least they could do is give us a bit extra money.
I'll pass the darn thing, and if I don't, I'll pass it later and get
the promotion... but I'm a bit angry at the double standard.
Rant over. See y'all later.
